A world of options

What do we do?
We own and manage the operation and development of both of Dubai’s airports – Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central (DWC). Dubai International is growing rapidly. Already handling more than 66 million passengers a year, we expect close to 100 million by the end of the decade. We’re therefore investing US$7.8 billion here. DWC is our airport of the future. Opened in June 2010 for cargo operations and passenger flights from October 2013, the airport will ultimately become a global gateway for more than 200 million passengers a year. Recently we announced that we will invest $32 billion in its expansion to become the world’s biggest airport and one that reaches new heights in service and innovation. We plan to shift the paradigm for the airport passenger experience. To do that, we need a broad range of skills, experiences, nationalities and approaches.
Terminal Operations
The Terminal Operations team ensures all passengers travel from the kerb to the aircraft as quickly and comfortably as possible. Working closely with other stakeholders, it oversees the management and upkeep of all terminal facilities, including maintaining infrastructure at security, check-in and immigration.
Airside Operations
With about 1000 aircraft movements every day and a complex network of road systems, taxiways, runways, aprons and lighting systems, creating a safe, secure and efficient airside environment is a vital element in Dubai Airports’ march to managing the world’s busiest and best airports. The Airside Operations unit is responsible for maintaining and operating all airside infrastructure while implementing new technologies and systems that increase the capacity and efficiency of the airport. As both airports are open 24 hours a day, all this work needs to be carried out in a live environment.
Airport Fire Service (AFS)
The Airport Fire Service provides 24/7 fire safety oversight and front line response landside and airside. The fire team, which ensures regulatory compliance and protects airport assets, is is focused on four key areas; Operations, Fire Safety, Training and Service Delivery.

Engineering Services
With a total built-up area of well over 1 million square metres spread over two airports that are used by more than 66 million passengers each year, keeping the airports’ infrastructure in top working order is no easy task. It is the responsibility of a dedicated team that ensures all airport infrastructure and systems are maintained, repaired and continually improved on a 24/7 basis. With a range of skills and expertise spanning structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines, the unit’s team members are able to tackle any project.

Communications & Business Development

Dubai Airports’ goal is to have a brand that is recognised around the world and associated with safety, security, innovation and world class service. The Communication & Business Development team is the custodian of the organisation’s brand with its employees, customers, stakeholders, the media, the community and the broader industry. It boosts brand awareness and reputation through diverse activities in marketing, brand management, internal communications, digital communications, media relations, customer and airline relations and business development.
Asset Revenue
The Asset Revenue team oversees the management of all non-aeronautical revenue generating assets. This entails a wide variety of activities ranging from detailed negotiation of property leases to working with key partners to ensure our revenue and service aspirations are safeguarded in space planning. The team is also involved in the planning of future developments related to ongoing airport expansion.
